Cumbria Butterfly and Day-Flying Moth Sightings
There have been significant changes to the restrictions brought in to reduce the spread of coronavirus. It is now possible for butterfly and moth recording to resume for people who are not shielding or self-isolating. Recorders must, at all times, continue to observe social distancing guidelines. If you have coronavirus symptoms, or if you or any of your household are self-isolating, you should stay at home. Although travel restrictions within the UK have now been lifted, local restrictions may be in place as a response to coronavirus outbreaks. Please check for and comply with any local restrictions when planning or undertaking recording activities. More information can be found on the Butterfly Conservation website.
Sightings Display Basic Mode Help
The basic mode displays sightings for a particular month or year for which data exist. Sightings data for either butterflies, moths, or both, can be displayed.
To select a time period for the sightings, use the mouse to select a value from the Date drop-down menu and click the Update button to refresh the table.
To select a group, such as butterfly or moth, use the mouse to select a value from the Group drop-down menu and click the Update button to refresh the table.
Selecting the asterisk, *, in a drop-down menu matches sightings records against all available values for that field. For instance, selecting * for the Date matches all records which match the Group and selecting * for the Group will match records for both butterflies and moths.
