Overview

The Orange tip is a habitat generalist and can still be seen in good numbers throughout Cumbria. It frequents hedgerows, wide roadside verges and WET GRASSLAND sites where its larval foodplant Lady’s Smock and Hedge Mustard grows in profusion.

Where to look

Almost anywhere, but especially areas of wet grassland.

When to look

Early April to the end of June though in Cumbria it usually tails off earlier so don’t leave it too late.
